Benjamino Selected Discography

In The Shadows

Evocative, dramatic and containing more chances to sing along than a shower with perfect acoustics, In The Shadows is both a call to arms and a cry for help. The song speaks of the inherent need to express oneself, but also acknowledges how hard it is to do so.

On a bed of spine-tingling choral harmonies and a swagger-filled beat, Benjamino’s soaring vocals leap out of the song and say it plainly: “Been living in the shadows, but I need to feel the sun”. The noir production is punctuated by eclectic samples, cascading synth melodies, and a guitar solo that even your uncle will perk up to.

On Repeat (On Repeat)

Fresh off a joint headline tour of Australia’s east coast, meadowhip and Benjamino have stripped back their 2023 collab track “On Repeat'', taken it out of the sunshine and into the jazz lounge, and named it On Repeat (On Repeat).

This time, the self-deprecating lament of existential crisis smokes and shimmers gently, breathing new life into the alt-RnB genre with a little help from the days of old.

The result: a cosy, sparkling chillhop track cosplaying as a 1950s soft jazz number.

A journey that begins and ends with swirling piano paired with Benjamino’s buttery vocals, this offering is a call to those with their heads in the sand. In Face is Changing, the writer implores the listener to seek new art from different voices, not just for the good of those creating the art but also for betterment of themselves. This plea is further aided by the angelic voice of Sydney based vocalist Julie Claude, lending her voice to another Benjamino track after 2022’s Chasing My Tail.

Face is Changing

On Repeat

Benjamino and meadowhip - Wollongong’s finest purveyors of cheek and sarcasm - have joined forces to create On Repeat. On a bed of sparkling neo-soul guitar and bass, and a gentle jazz beat, Benjamino’s buttery brogue weaves into meadowhip’s gossamer inflections, lending a soothing, multidimensional vocal-scape to an age-old question - “Is this really all there is to life?”.

Golden Age

Golden Age is a continuation of the artist’s signature sound, combining his love of modern Indie Pop with nostalgic soul and funk. Video directed and edited by Declan Arrighi, filmed at Mt Kembla Tennis Courts, Dharawal.
